From Oak Park-River Forest High School, Ray Anderson lettered four times in golf (1948-51), and he was the medalist at the 1951 CCIW Men’s Golf Championship. He went on to become a vice president of the Wicklander Printing Company in Chicago, president of the Western Golf Association, a member of the United States Golf Association’s executive committee and a member of the rules committee for both the U.S. Open and the Master’s. Anderson was inducted into the Illinois PGA Hall of Fame in 1992.
