A one-year letter winner, Jim Miller made the most of his lone season with the Red Men, being named to the 1997 American Baseball Coaches Association All-America Second Team and All-CCIW First Team, as well as the Carthage College Mark A. Larsen Outstanding Pitcher.  His 10 wins in 1997 are tied for the most in a single season by a Carthage pitcher and his 81 strikeouts are tied for fourth.   Additionally, Miller ranks tied for eighth in innings pitched in a season with 80 and 11th with a 1.80 earned run average in 1997.  Following Carthage, Miller became an 11th round selection by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1997 MLB Draft.
