From Clinton, Iowa, Jim Lesher lettered four times in football (1948-51) and also participated in tennis.  In football, he  was named an All-CCIW lineman four times, second team in 1948 and 1949, first team in 1950 and second team again in 1951. He went on to become a pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, Iowa.
