The Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) serves as the official representative body for all Carthage College student-athletes. Its primary purpose is to ensure that student-athletes have a unified and organized voice when communicating their academic, social, and athletic needs to college administrators, coaches, and other decision-makers. Through this structure, SAAC helps bridge the gap between student-athletes and institutional leadership, ensuring that concerns, ideas, and feedback are heard and considered in shaping the overall student-athlete experience.
In addition to advocacy, SAAC plays a key role in fostering a strong sense of community and connection within Carthage College Athletics and the surrounding area. The committee works to promote unity across all teams, encouraging collaboration, shared leadership, and school spirit among student-athletes from different sports. This emphasis on connection extends beyond campus, as SAAC also supports initiatives that engage and positively impact the local community through service and outreach.
SAAC is composed of representatives from each athletic team, ensuring broad representation across the department. These representatives are responsible for bringing forward the perspectives of their respective teams while also communicating SAAC initiatives back to their teammates. In doing so, they help maintain accountability within Carthage College Athletics and reinforce the principles of NCAA Division III, which emphasize a balanced student-athlete experience that prioritizes academics, athletics, and involvement in campus life.
