KENOSHA, Wis. — Carthage College Athletics mourns the loss of Ryan Scanlon, a former Carthage baseball student-athlete who competed for the Firebirds from 2021-25.

Scanlon concluded his Carthage career by earning College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Year honors in 2025. He became the first Carthage pitcher to receive the award since 2009.

During his final season, Scanlon posted a 7-1 record with a 3.18 ERA and recorded 73 strikeouts while facing 274 batters. He allowed just 20 walks throughout the season.

Carthage Athletics extends its deepest condolences to Scanlon's family, friends, former teammates, and all those who knew and loved him. His impact on the Carthage baseball program and the Firebirds community will be remembered.
