GREENSBORO, N.C. — Throwing in the men's discus, freshman Joseph White competed at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at the Irwin Belk Track, placing 17th.

"Joseph has had a fantastic freshman year, and being able to end the season at the national championship meet is something to be proud of," said assistant coach Greg Raimondi. "Today wasn't the result he was hoping for, but it was definitely a great learning experience for future years."

After faulting on his first two attempts in the preliminaries, White posted a mark of 35.25 meters on his third. The Kenosha native placed 17th in the country to close out his first collegiate track and field season.

The men's track and field program officially closes out the 2021 season on Saturday, when Matthew Ausse competes in the men's hammer at 10:30 a.m. ET.
