Pair of Records Highlight Dual Meet Weekend for Men's Track & Field

ELMHURST / PLATTEVILLE - The Carthage men's track & field team continued their 2026 outdoor season with a pair of meets this past weekend at the Platteville Invitational and the Chicagoland Championships.

SPRINTS

Dylan Parker won the 400m with a record-breaking time of 47.87 seconds.

The 4x100m relay, which featured Christopher Seals, Landon Voye, Jy'Lique Barnes, and Parker, placed sixth with a combined time of 42.90 seconds.

DISTANCE

Jacob Curulewski finished 11th in the UW-Platteville Invitational 5,000m, breaking the Carthage school record with a time of 14:13.57.

JUMPS

Jack Tilton placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.97m.

Nick DeLuca placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.03m.

THROWS

Tyler Rose won the discus throw with a top mark of 50.40m.

Rose placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 15.21m.

Rose also placed fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.31m.

Curulewski ranks 13th at the NCAA Division III level in the 5,000m at 14:13.57. Curulewski leads the CCIW with this time, while Harlan Matson ranks seventh in the conference at 15:03.74.
Parker ranks 23rd in the 400m at the NCAA Division III level with a time of 47.87 seconds. Parker also leads the CCIW with this performance.
Tilton ranks third in the CCIW in the high jump at 1.97m.
Voye ranks fifth in the 200m with a time of 22.01 seconds in the CCIW.
Micahel Herres ranks sixth in the CCIW in the 800m at 1:58.28.
LJ Higgs ranks sixth in the 1,500m for the CCIW at 4:05.15.

The Firebirds will return to action on Saturday, April 18 as the squad heads to Wheaton, Ill. to compete in the Don Church Twilight at Wheaton College.
