Rose Named CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Week Following Strong Season Opener

NAPERVILLE - Tyler Rose of the Carthage men's track & field team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Field Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Rose, a senior from Naperville, Ill., won three events at the North Central College First Chance Invitational. Rose claimed a victory in the shot put with a mark of 15.57 meters, which currently ranks 23rd at the NCAA Division III level. In the discus throw, Rose won the event with a personal best throw of 51.22 meters, which ranks fourth in Division III. Rose closed out the weekend with a win in the hammer throw, claiming the event with a personal best mark of 54.21 meters. The mark ranks 14th at the Division III level.

Rose and the Firebirds return to action on Thursday, April 2 as the squad is set to host the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Art Keller Field. Action begins at 10 a.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
