NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Carthage men's and women's track and field teams sent a select number of student-athletes to compete at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on the campus of North Central on Thursday and Friday.

Each team is currently scheduled to head back to North Central next week, with a two-day event beginning on Wednesday, May 19.

"The throwers had solid performances coming off the week of the conference championships. Our goal was to build confidence going into next year or the national meet, with hopes of personal bests. Hopefully, Matt and Joseph can remain in the top 17 nationally with their current marks to solidify a spot in the national meet in two weeks."

"We look at last chance meets as extra credit, another opportunity to do our thing. This meet was highlighted by Cailey running a lifetime best in the 200. Her time sets her up well for next week where she will take another crack at qualifying for nationals."
