KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College baseball team's season came to an end on Saturday as the Red Men dropped a pair of games at Augie Schmidt Field to the North Central College Cardinals on Senior Day.

With the pair of losses, Carthage season concludes at 20-18 and 12-12 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while North Central moves to 20-15 and clinches at least a share of the CCIW title at 15-8.

Game 1: North Central 3, Carthage 1
The Red Men were bested in pitchers duel, as Austin Polezoes outdueled
Tim Sulik in a nail biter. Sulik fell in his complete game outing, allowing three runs on eight hits, while striking out six. Polezoes earned the complete game win as he limited the Red Men to just one run on seven hits.

Carthage scored their lone run in the third inning to tie the game at one as
Matt Rave singled to left to score
Drew Korosic with two outs.

However the Red Men left eight stranded in the game, including a pair in the ninth, to doom Carthage.

Game 2: North Central 11, Carthage 7
Carthage overcame a 4-1 deficit in the third as
Matt Rave drove in his second and third RBIs on a double to the left centerfield wall to score
Ryan Kramer and
Jared Knoespel.

The Red Men took the lead in the seventh as Kramer singled to score Knoespel and Korosic then with one out in the inning
Ryan Rodgers singled down the left field line to put Carthage ahead as Rave and Kramer came across home.

Carthage's lead was short lived though as the Red Men were undone in the eighth as North Central scored three times on three hits and were helped by four errors in the inning by the Red Men, giving the Cardinals an 8-7 lead, which they extend in the later innings.
