NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week.
Auggie Claridge and
Kaitlyn Goff of the Carthage Women's Lacrosse team were named Offensive and Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the CCIW, the conference announced Tuesday.
Claridge, a junior from Wheaton, Illinois, played a key role in leading the Firebirds to two wins on the week. In Wednesday's 14–3 victory over Lake Forest, Claridge tallied two goals and six assists, adding nine shots (six on goal), one ground ball, and one caused turnover. She followed that performance on Saturday with three goals and three assists against Augustana, while posting three shots on goal and one ground ball. Overall, Claridge totaled 14 points across the two games.
Goff, a junior from Park Ridge, Illinois, anchored the Firebirds' defense in both wins. Against Lake Forest on Wednesday, Goff recorded seven ground balls, seven caused turnovers, and four draw controls. Goff continued her strong play in Saturday's 18–0 shutout victory over Augustana, finishing with six ground balls, two caused turnovers, and seven draw controls.
