NAPERVILLE — Senior defenseman Josh Flores earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors following a standout performance in Carthage's conference victory.

Flores anchored the Firebirds' defense in a 12-9 win over Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday, helping secure the program's first victory against the Titans since 2017. The Mahtomedi, Minn., native tallied seven caused turnovers and eight ground balls while leading an effort that limited Illinois Wesleyan to nine goals.

The Firebirds head home to play Elmhurst in a key matchup on Wednesday, April 22, at 7 p.m.
