Carthage Battles Back, Elmhurst Responds in Second Half

KENOSHA — The Carthage College men's lacrosse team erased an early deficit and pulled even before halftime, but Elmhurst used a decisive second-half run to pull away for a 17-9 victory. The Firebirds battled back from four goals down in the opening half to tie the contest at seven late in the second quarter, only to see the Bluejays regain control with a strong third quarter and seal the result down the stretch.

How it Happened
  • Carthage opened the scoring with a goal from Kyle Carollo at 12:16 of the first quarter.

  • Elmhurst surged ahead with four unanswered goals to build a 6-2 advantage.
  • Andy Slattery added a goal for the Firebirds before the end of the quarter, trimming the deficit to three.
