NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women's Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week.
Jackie Tuzil of the Carthage Women's Track and Field team was named Field Student-Athlete of the Week for the CCIW, the conference announced Wednesday.
This past weekend, the Firebirds competed at the Chicagoland Championships, where Jackie Tuzil showcased a strong all-around performance in the throwing events. Tuzil led the way with a standout showing in the discus, capturing first place with a season-best mark of 45.79 meters. Tuzil also competed in the shot put, recording a throw of 10.95 meters to finish 15th. In the hammer throw, Tuzil added a mark of 38.79 meters, placing 16th. Tuzil's first-place finish in the discus highlighted an impressive weekend for the Firebirds.
Additionally, Tuzil currently ranks sixth in the NCAA Division III and second in the CCIW for a mark of 45.79 meters in the discus.
The Firebirds will be back in action on Saturday, April 18, at the Don Church Twilight, hosted by the Wheaton Thunder. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
