CHICAGO – The Carthage College women's track & field team returned to action at the Chicagoland Championships, hosted by Elmhurst. The three-day meet featured a highly competitive and diverse field, bringing together top programs from the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA ranks. Amidst the strong competition, the Firebirds delivered an impressive showing, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and several marks that earned spots on both the NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List and the CCIW Performance List. Carthage's performances throughout the weekend demonstrated the team's depth and momentum as they continue to build toward the championship portion of the outdoor season.
SPRINTS
In the 400-meter hurdles, Angelina Gersch placed eighth, crossing the finish line in 1:11.02.
DISTANCE
Jessie Pakaski recorded a time of 2:19.63 in the 800-meter run, earning a 12th-place finish.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Natalie Forward and
Camryn Lau finished 14th and 15th with times of 12:21.73 and 12:33.73, respectively.
Kylie Florance placed 13th in the 5,000-meter run, clocking 18:48.88.
Highlighting the distance events, Brooke Nez secured a third-place finish in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 43:02.14.
JUMPS
In the high jump, Serena Coleman cleared 1.43 meters to finish 15th.
The Firebirds were led in the long jump by Christina Hall, who captured first place with a mark of 5.55 meters.
Anna Kegel and
Angelina Gersch followed with marks of 5.02 meters and 4.99 meters, placing 11th and 14th, respectively.
In the triple jump, Mara TenBrink recorded a mark of 10.96 meters, finishing sixth.
THROWS
Jackie Tuzil led the Firebirds in the discus throw, earning first place with a mark of 45.79 meters.
Eiley Schoeneman placed 12th with a throw of 35.05 meters.
In the hammer throw, Madison Payne claimed first place with a mark of 48.05 meters, while
Rose Wagner finished fifth with a throw of 44.15 meters.
Payne also competed in the javelin throw, placing seventh with a mark of 30.99 meters.
In the shot put, Payne added another strong performance, finishing second with a mark of 13.48 meters.
Lillian Townsend secured third place with a throw of 12.83 meters.
Ava Freund and
Caylene Von-Schilling Worth placed 10th and 11th with marks of 11.52 meters and 11.48 meters, respectively.
Eiley Schoeneman and
Jackie Tuzil rounded out the Firebirds' efforts, finishing 14th and 15th with throws of 10.99 meters and 10.95 meters.
RELAYS
The Firebirds' 4x100-meter relay team of Anna Kegel,
Kylie Kutner,
Shaylen Quinn, and
Marisa Serpico placed sixth with a time of 50.32.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Kylie Kutner,
Shaylen Quinn,
Noelle Marsh, and
Rylie Wilson finished seventh, posting a time of 4:12.20.
NCAA Performance List
Jackie Tuzil currently ranks sixth on the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List in the discus throw.
Madison Payne holds the 16th position on the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List in the shot put.
CCIW Performance List
In the 10,000-meter run,
Kylie Florance is ranked third on the Outdoor CCIW Performance List with a time of 39:03.21.
Christina Hall leads the conference in the long jump, holding the top spot with a mark of 5.55 meters.
Madison Payne ranks first in both the shot put (13.48 meters) and the hammer throw (48.05 meters).
Lillian Townsend is currently third in the shot put with a mark of 12.83 meters.
In the discus throw,
Jackie Tuzil is ranked second with a mark of 45.79 meters.
