GREENWOOD - The Carthage College women's track and field team named six student-athletes to this year's 2025-26 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The Firebirds were tied in the CCIW for most selections with Carroll (Wis.), Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, North Central (Ill.), and Wheaton (Ill.).
Kylie Florance, a junior from Gurnee, Ill., won the 10,000m run at the 2026 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a personal best time of 37:43.91, before placing eighth in the 5,000m with a time of 18:38.27. At the CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships, Florence placed fourth in the 3,000m (10:41.40) and seventh in the 5,000m (18:51.34). The junior also claimed a top-five finish at the 2025 CCIW Cross Country Championships with a time of 22:50.5.
Julia Kraus, a junior from Antioch, Ill., placed seventh in the heptathlon at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a score of 3,525 points. Kraus earned personal best in the 800m (2:42.76), the javelin throw (26.32 meters), and the 100m hurdles (16.71).
Rose Wagner, a junior from McHenry, Ill., placed fourth in the hammer throw at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a mark of 43.67m. Wagner also placed seventh in the weight throw at the CCIW Indoor Championships with a personal best throw of 14.00m.
Jessie Pakaski, a senior from Wauconda, Ill., placed third in the 1,500m at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:46.08, before finishing seventh in the 800m final with a time of 2:24.93. Pakaski also earned an eighth place finish in the 800m at the CCIW Indoor Championships with a time of 2:22.72. In cross country, Pakaski earned a 10th place finish with a personal best time of 23:06.9.
Anna Kegel, a senior from Round Lake, Ill., placed sixth in the long jump at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a mark of 5.23m. Kegel also finished fifth in the 4x100m relay with a combined time of 49.75 seconds.Â
Angelina Gersch, a junior from Spring Grove, Ill., earned a pair of seventh-place finishes at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a 1:10.68 performance in the 400m hurdles and a 5.21m mark in the long jump.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track and Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track and field honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their institution. Nominated athletes must be ranked in the top 50 in the region in a single event (XC, indoor, or outdoor) and must be an individual performance, not a relay performance. Additionally, nominees must have completed one full calendar year at their institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
