Rose Claims Three Wins as Firebirds Open Outdoor Season

NAPERVILLE / ST. LOUIS - The Carthage men's track & field team opened the outdoor season at the WashU Distance Carnival and the North Central First Chance Invitational from Thursday through Saturday.

SPRINTS

Layne Rund placed seventh in the 400m with a time of 52.04 seconds.

DISTANCE

Jacob Curulewski set the Carthage school record in the 10,000m, finishing in 29:43.54 at the WashU Distance Carnival.

LJ Higgs placed sixth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:06.91

JUMPS

Jack Tilton placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m. Camron Foster placed fourth in the event at 1.95m.

Foster placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.34m, while Anthony Rice placed seventh at 13.19m and Quentin Arceo placed eighth at 13.18m.

Kedrick Johnson III placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.41m.

THROWS

Tyler Rose won the shot put with a mark of 15.57m. Al Crema placed fifth at 13.85m.

Rose then won the discus throw with a mark of 51.22m Caleb Haas-Rock finished in seventh place at 40.43m.

Rose claimed the triple crown with a win in the hammer throw with a throw of 54.21m. Haas-Rock finished in fifth place with a mark of 45.17m.

Rose ranks fourth in the NCAA Division III lists in the discus throw at 51.22m. Rose also leads the CCIW while Haas-Rock ranks seventh.
Curulewski ranks seventh in the NCAA in the 10,000m at 29:43.54. Curulewski ranks second in the CCIW in the event. Connor Wood also ranks ninth in the event at 32:55.37.
Foster ranks eighth at the Division III level in the triple jump at 14.34m.
Rose also ranks 12th in the hammer throw at the Division III level with a mark of 54.21m. Rose leads the conference in the event while Haas-Rock ranks sixth.
Rose leads the CCIW in the shot put with a mark of 15.57m, while Crema ranks seventh and Roy Jones rounds out the top 10.
Foster and Tilton are tied for second in the CCIW for the high jump at 1.95m. Austin Alexander and Rund rank eighth at 1.75m.
Foster ranks second in the CCIW in the triple jump at 14.34m. Rice ranks fifth, while Arceo sits in sixth place.
Higgs ranks fourth in the CCIW in the 1,500m with a time of 4:06.91. Michael Herres ranks eighth at 4:19.20, while AJ Ripper ranks 10th at 4:19.90.
Andrew Schaer ranks fourth in the conference in the 5,000m with a time of 5:16.58. Luke Davey ranks seventh at 15:33.87.
Christopher Seals ranks fifth in the CCIW in the 200m with a time of 22.71 seconds.
Harlan Matson ranks sixth in the CCIW in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:12.19.
Johnson III ranks sixth in the long jump in the CCIW at 6.41m.
Jy'Lique Barnes ranks seventh in the CCIW in the 100m with a time of 11.21 seconds.
Joey Hagen ranks seventh in the CCIW in the pole vault with a mark of 3.65m.
Higgs also ranks ninth in the conference in the 800m with a time of 2:01.60.
