NAPERVILLE - The Carthage women's track and field team has been selected to finish fifth in the 2026 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Indoor Track & Field Pre-Championship Poll, the conference announced Thursday.

2. North Central (3 first-place votes), 56 points

9. North Park, 13 points
Five Firebirds are currently ranked in the top five in their respective events.
In the long jump, Christina Hall is ranked fourth with a mark of 5.54 meters.
In the shot put, three Birds' are ranked with Madison Payne leading the flock in first with a mark of 13.80 meters. Following right behind in second is Lillian Townsend with a mark of 13.08 meters. Additionally, Caylene Von-Schilling, with a mark of 11.85 meters, is ranked fifth.
In the weight throw, Payne and Jackie Tuzil are ranked second and fifth with marks of 16.05 and 15.00 meters.
The Firebirds are scheduled to compete in the 2026 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Illinois. Action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m both Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit
