BLOOMINGTON – The Carthage women's track & field team returned to action in Bloomington, Illinois, for day one of the 2026 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships. The highlight of the day came from
Madison Payne taking the crown in the weight throw.

DISTANCE
In the 5,000 meter run, Kylie Florance had a season-best run (18:51.34) for a seventh-place finish.
JUMPS
Christina Hall placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.50 meters.
THROWS
Three Firebirds scored for the team in the weight throw. Payne led the trio, finishing in first place with a mark of 16.23 meters. Jackie Tuzil also earned a podium finish in third with a mark of 15.39 meters. Rose Wagner rounded out the trio in seventh place with a mark of 14.00 meters.
RELAYS
The Firebirds team of Natalie Forward, Shaylen Quinn, Rylie Wilson, and Allison Hunt placed eighth in the distance medley relay.
MULTI
Julia Kraus placed fifth in the pentathlon scoring 2549 points while Addison Huppert placed eighth scoring 2412 points.
The Firebirds return to action on Saturday, February 28, for day two of the CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan. Action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. For more information, visit
