BLOOMINGTON – The Carthage women's track & field team returned to action in Bloomington, Illinois, for day one of the 2026 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships. The highlight of the day came from
Madison Payne taking the crown in the weight throw.

DISTANCE
In the 5,000 meter run, Kylie Florance* had a season-best run (18:51.34) for a seventh-place finish.
JUMPS
Christina Hall* placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.50 meters.
THROWS
Three Firebirds scored for the team in the weight throw. Payne* led the trio, finishing in first place with a mark of 16.23 meters. Jackie Tuzil* also earned a podium finish in third with a mark of 15.39 meters. Rose Wagner* rounded out the trio in seventh place with a mark of 14.00 meters.
RELAYS
The Firebirds team of Natalie Forward, Shaylen Quinn, Rylie Wilson, and Allison Hunt placed eighth in the distance medley relay.
MULTI
Julia Kraus* placed fifth in the pentathlon scoring 2549 points while Addison Huppert* placed eighth scoring 2412 points.
