WHITEWATER – The Carthage women's track & field team returned to action in Whitewater, Wisconsin, for the Midwest Elite Invitational. The Firebirds left the two day meet with multiple top 10 finishes in a large and competitive Division III field. 


SPRINTS
Kylie Kutner clocked a time of 8.18 in the 60 meter dash. Kutner additionally ran a personal record in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 27.11. 

Maija Rantala clocked a time of 10.41 in the 60 meter hurdles (personal record). 

In the 400 meter dash, Olivia Hartwig ran a personal best of 1:06.94. 

DISTANCE
Mandy Nelson led the Firebirds in the 800 meter run, with a personal record run of 2:25.24.

In the one mile run, Allison Hunt clocked a personal record of 5:34.81. 

Brooke Nez led the Firebirds in the 3,000 meter run, clocking a time of 11:51.05 (top 10 finish).

Kylie Florance ran a time of 18:52.25 in the 5,000 meter run. 

JUMPS
In the long jump, Christina Hall led the Firebirds with a mark of 5.32 meters and a top 10 finish. 

With a personal record jump and a top 10 finish, Jadynn Kramer jumped a mark of 10.28 meters in the triple jump. 

THROWS
Three Firebirds reached top 10 finishes in the shot put. Madison Payne led the Firebirds with a second place finish, throwing a mark of 13.10 meters. Lillian Townsend followed in third place with a mark of 12.86 meters. Caylene Von-Schilling placed seventh, throwing a mark of 11.85 meters. 

In the weight throw, two Firebirds placed in the top 10. Payne led the Firebirds with a second place finish and a mark of 16.06 meters. Jackie Tuzil placed ninth with a mark of 14.88 meters. 


NCAA Performance List
Madison Payne is ranked 11th on the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Qualifying List in the shot put. 

CCIW Performance List
Payne and Lillian Townsend are ranked first and second in the CCIW performance list in the shot put. Payne is also ranked second in the CCIW for the weight throw. 


The Firebirds return to action on Saturday, February 21, at the Parkside Classic, hosted by UW-Parkside. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. For more information, visit  athletics.carthage.edu.
