WHITEWATER – The Carthage women's track & field team traveled to Whitewater, Wisconsin, on Saturday afternoon. In a strong division three field, the Firebirds delivered a strong all-around performance across multiple events.
DISTANCE
Mandy Nelson ran a personal record in the 800 meter run, taking sixth place with a time of 2:26.38.
Allison Hunt clocked a time of 5:40.06 in the 1 mile run, taking fifth place (personal record).
In the 5,000 meter run, Kylie Florance ran a time of 19:11.97 for a second place finish. Finishing in 20:03.91, Kaitlyn Jerbi took fourth place.
JUMPS
In the long jump, Christina Hall and Anna Kegel placed seventh and tenth with marks of 5.37 meters and 5.15 meters.
THROWS
Madison Payne led the Firebirds in the shot put, throwing a mark of 13.18 meters for a second place finish. Lillian Townsend followed behind in fourth place, marking 12.73 meters.
Payne took third place in the weight throw, marking 15.91 meters. Throwing 14.70 meters, Jackie Tuzil placed ninth.
NCAA Performance List
In the shot put, Payne is ranked in the NCAA Division III Indoor Qualifying List, ranking in 12th with a mark of 13.50 meters.
CCIW Performance List
In the 5,000 meter run, Florence is ranked third with a time of 19:03.22.
In the shot put, Payne and Townsend are ranked first and second with marks of 13.50 meters and 12.82 meters.
Payne is ranked first in the weight throw, with a mark of 15.58 meters.
