Men’s Track and Field Named Five Firebirds to 2025 CSC Academic All-District®

KENOSHA - The Carthage College men's track and field team named five student-athletes to this year's 2024-2025 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Mac Anderson, a graduate student from Winthrop Harber, Ill., took fourth in the 55-meter finals at the 2025 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Indoor Championships, clocking in a personal best time of 6.46. On the national level, in the North Region, Anderson had the 30th best time in the indoor 60m, 44th in the indoor 200m, 27th in the outdoor 100m, and 13th in the outdoor 4x100m relay. 

Jacob Brost, a junior from Janesville, Wis., took first place in the javelin throw at the 2025 CCIW Outdoor Championships and sixth place in the hammer throw. At the 2025 CCIW Indoor Championships, Brost placed eighth in the weight throw. On the national level, in the North Region, Brost had the 19th best mark in the indoor weight throw, 16th in the outdoor hammer throw, and third in the outdoor javelin throw. 

Jacob Curulewski, a junior from Downers Grove, Ill., took second place in the 10,000-meter run at the 2025 CCIW Outdoor Championships. Additionally, Curulewski placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run. At the 2025 CCIW Indoor Championships, Curulewski placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run and eighth in the 3,000-meter run. At the CCIW Cross Country Championships this year, Curulewski ran a personal record in the 8k (24:32.0) for a sixth-place finish. On the national level, in the North Region, Curulewski had the 44th best time in the Indoor 5,000m, 14th in the outdoor 5,000m, and 7th in the outdoor 10,000m. Additionally, Curulewski finished sixth at the NCAA Division III North Region Cross Country Championships. 

Luke Davey, a sophomore from Chicago, Ill., placed 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2025 CCIW Outdoor Championships. On the national level, in the North Region, Davey had the 43rd best time in the outdoor 3,000m steeplechase. 

Topher Davis, a graduate student from Crystal Lake, Ill., took 21st place in the mile at the 2025 CCIW Indoor Championships. On the national level, in the North Region, Davis had the 49th best time in the outdoor 3,000m steeplechase. 

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track and Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track and field honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their institution. Nominated athletes must be ranked in the top 50 in the region in a single event (XC, indoor, or outdoor) and must be an individual performance, not a relay performance. Additionally, nominees must have completed one full calendar year at their institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
