GREENWOOD - The Carthage College men's track and field team named six student-athletes to this year's 2025-26 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The Firebirds were tied in the CCIW for most selections with Augustana (Ill.), North Central (Ill.), and Illinois Wesleyan.
Caleb Haas-Rock, a sophomore from Woodville, Wis., placed sixth in the hammer throw at the 2026 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 48.38 meters. Haas-Rock also finished in ninth place in the shot put at the CCIW Championships with a mark of 43.38m.
Luke Davey, a junior from Chicago, Ill., finished in third place at the CCIW Outdoor Championships in the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:26.48. Davey later finished eighth in the 5,000m with a time of 15:39.83. Davey also placed eighth in the 3,000m run at the CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships with a personal best time of 8:52.63, while finishing in 24th place at the 2025 CCIW Cross Country Championships with a time of 26:22.5.
Quinn Kelly, a senior from Woodridge, Ill., earned an 11th place finish at the CCIW Championships in the 3,000m steeplechase with personal best time of 9:56.19.
Andrew Schaer, a sophomore from Athens, Wis., placed fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:30.40, before finishing in seventh place in the 5,000m with a time of 15:35.86. Schaer also finished in eighth place in the 5,000m run at the CCIW Indoor Championships.
Jacob Curulewski, a senior from Downers Grove, Ill., claimed four CCIW titles during the 2025-26 school year, earning wins in cross country (23:57.2), the indoor 3,000m (8:29.25) and 5,000m (14:44.46), and the outdoor 10,000m (29:53.20). Curulewski earned First Team All-American honors in cross country with an eighth-place finish in 23:56.0, as well as Second Team All-American honors in the outdoor 5,000m (14:34.00) and 10,000m (30:13.64).
Harlan Matson, a sophomore from Plainfield, Ill., won the 3,000m steeplechase at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with a time of 9:19.37. Matson later placed seventh in the 1,500m with a time of 4:04.67. In the Indoor Championships, Matson placed second in the mile (4:14.50) and fourth in the distance medley relay (10:32.54). Matson also earned All-CCIW honors with an eighth place finish at the Cross Country Championships.
Curulewski was additionally selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot. Finalists are denoted by an asterisk on the Academic All-District® teams and will be voted on by CSC members for Academic All-America® honors.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track and Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track and field honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their institution. Nominated athletes must be ranked in the top 50 in the region in a single event (XC, indoor, or outdoor) and must be an individual performance, not a relay performance. Additionally, nominees must have completed one full calendar year at their institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
