NAPERVILLE — Carthage College graduate student
Sam Wallace was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for games played April 14-20, the league announced Tuesday.
Wallace, who hails from Bloomington, Minnesota, played a pivotal role in the Firebirds' back-to-back CCIW wins over Carroll and North Central. The defender totaled eight ground balls and six caused turnovers across the two contests.
His standout performance came in a 12-3 victory over North Central on Saturday, where he recorded six ground balls and forced five turnovers. The Firebirds held the Cardinals to their lowest offensive output of the season, thanks in large part to Wallace's effort.
