NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Carthage men's track & field team has been ranked 10th in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Ratings Index presented by AthleticNET, the USTFCCCA announced Tuesday. The ratings are determined using a point system that values the national rankings of individual student-athletes in each program.

The Firebirds scored 57.04 points this week and remain the only ranked team from the CCIW. Carthage is one of six teams ranked from the North Region, along with UW-La Crosse (1), UW-Oshkosh (2), UW-Eau Claire (3), Bethel (Minn.) (4), and UW-Whitewater (5).

Joseph White continues to lead the Firebirds and is ranked first in the country in both shot put (18.94m) and weight throw (21.86m). Chase Upmann sits in 12th place in the 800m (1:51.59c). Zebulon Turner is ranked 15th in the high jump (2.03m). Lucas Leal is ranked 24th in the weight throw (17.88m), while Mac Anderson is ranked 39th in the 60m dash (6.91).

The Firebirds season continues on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 as the team competes in the CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships in Naperville, Ill. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
