Liu Concludes Play at ITA Cup

ROME - Xingchen Liu of the Carthage women's tennis team traveled to Georgia to compete in the 2024 ITA Cup from Thursday, Oct. 10 to SAturday, Oct. 12. Liu competed in three matches, representing the Firebirds on all three days.

Liu opened the weekend against Emily Kantrovitz of Emory University, where she fell 6-1, 6-1 in the East round of 16. On Friday, Liu competed in the West quarterfinals where she dropped a 6-1, 6-3 match to Cassidy Binder of Pacific University. On Saturday, Liu competed in the South semifinals against Marissa Markey of Pamona-Pitzer. Markey won the match 6-1, 6-0.

The Firebirds (4-3) return to action on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Rock Island, Ill. as the squad goes head-to-head with the Augustana (Ill.) Vikings. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Tennis Courts. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
