WHEATON, Ill. — Competing in their last meet before the conference championships, the Carthage men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Don Church Twilight at McCully Stadium on the campus of Wheaton College on Friday.

Scoring 61.5 points, the women's team placed sixth among eight teams competing, while the men accumulated 84 to place fourth out of eight teams.

Both teams are set to compete at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship next week, beginning on Friday, May 7 on the campus of Augustana.

Men's Head Coach Josh Henry

"We probably had our best meet as a team today and I am really encouraged with where we are heading into the conference championship next week. We had several breakthrough performances today in many events, and saw a particularly strong meet from the distance crew. We're looking forward to carrying this momentum into Rock Island for the conference meet next Saturday. The guys are excited for the opportunity to compete at a conference championship for the first time in what has felt like an eternity."

Women's Head Coach Stephanie Domin

"At today's meet, we had a lot of great performances and confidence builders. It was a great tuneup for our CCIW conference championship meet next weekend!"
