KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage men's track and field team got an early start to the indoor season today, hosting the Forever Red Alumni Classic in the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center. The team finished in first place overall, set a handful of individual personal records, and even edited the top-10 in the school record books.
"Being so early in the season, our main goal today was to go out and have a little fun while being competitive; I think we did a great job doing just that today. We competed well all across the board and the result was some very encouraging early-season marks. I was impressed in particular with our returners. A lot of those guys took big steps from their season last year and it is very encouraging for what we can accomplish this year. We also had some nice performances from first year guys that can be a big boost to the team moving forward."
"This was a great way for us to head into Winter Break. I expect the momentum will keep guys focused over the next four weeks and have us ready to get after it in January! Also, a special shoutout to all of our alumni who competed and/or supported us today. It was great to see so many people come back who have made such a positive impact on our program over the years!"
