Jeff Lotz Jr. (Jr., Racine, Wis., 24-10), ranked 15th in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, defeated Illinois Wesleyan's Brian Piotrowski, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles.
Daneric Hazelman (Sr., Lautoka, Fiji Islands, 27-6) defeated the Titans' Brian Sorich, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
Matt Whiteside (Sr., Sacramento, Calif./Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 22-5) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was
Alex McLean (Sr., Belleville, Ill./West,11-20) at No. 4 singles,
Nick Boomgarden (Sr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 16-18) at No. 5 singles and
Brian Howes (Jr., Bartlett, Ill., 12-17) at No. 6 singles.
The Red Men's No. 1 doubles team of Lotz and Hazelman (30-3), ranked fourth in the region, lost to Illinois Wesleyan's Piotrowski and Brian Sorich by a9-7 margin. Carthage's No. 2 doubles team of Whiteside and Boomgarden (20-8) was a winner over the Titans, as was the Red Men's No. 3 team of McLean and
Conor Moon (Fr., Sussex, Wis./Woodstock, Ill.-Marian Central Catholic, 10-17).
On Friday, April 27, the Red Men close out their regular-season schedule by traveling to Naperville, Ill., to play conference-opponent North Central College (3-12, 0-3 CCIW) in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
