"We choose this tournament as the traditional start to our season because the field is very competitive, and this year was no exception. That two day score posted by Stout is outstanding, especially on that golf course. Glen Erin is an excellent test, and Stout simply went lights out. We knew they would be the team to beat, but that was even better than anyone saw coming, and after playing with them for two days, it wasn't a fluke. That is solidly a top 20 team, maybe even top 10.
- I thought we performed well. As everyone can see from our 4th place and 5th place finishes, we are deep and we have some strong college talent.
- It was very exciting to see Tayt Hager, who after our seven days of team qualifying earned himself our top spot, go out and play like a number one. He put in a fantastic summer, and he has come back more skilled, and much more confident. He has always been a talented young man, and now his skill level and his trust in his own abilities has caught up. He is going to have an exciting senior season.
- Our two freshmen that earned spots in our top 10 and the right to play in this first tournament, went out and showed how ready they are for college golf. Grady firing a 69 on the first day of his college golf career was fantastic, and is sure to boost his confidence going forward. He is very talented, and he has the perfect mindset of a golfer. Although Grant got bit by the jitters on day 1, he came back and shot a very solid 73 on day 2 to show everyone that yes, he is a good as advertised.
- Over the two days, we posted 8 scores of 73 or better, which is very solid golf. Having the B team beat the A team is a great way to show our depth, and that the competition within the team is going to keep driving us. I think each of these guys had a excellent summer, they came back ready to take the next step, and I think it is going to be a lot of fun watching us push to keep getting better and better."

The Firebirds will be back in action Tuesday September 8th competing in the Aurora Double Gun.
