NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Peyton Olinski of the Carthage College women's soccer team was named Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), the conference announced Tuesday.
Olinski, a senior from Bloomingdale, Ill., recorded two goals on the week. One coming in Carthage's contest againist Univsity of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (1-1). Then a (2-2) draw against Millikin on Saturday. Olinski opened the scoring against Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the 63rd minute with an assist from Bella Fusco, being the lone goal that game. Against Millikin on Senior Day, Olinski found the back of the net in the 31st minute off an assist from Jadynn Kramer to give the Firebirds a 1-0 lead. Later in the match, Olinski assisted Eve Hockerman's 84th-minute goal, helping Carthage earn another point in its CCIW opener. Olinski finished the match with two shots, including one on goal, while contributing a goal and an assist in 31 minutes of action. Olinski logged a total of 112 minutes played last week.
The Firebirds return to action Saturday, October 3, at 1 p.m. against Illinois Wesleyan University.
