HOLLAND, Mich. - The Carthage College women's soccer team fell to Hope College 3-0 on Saturday morning at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. The Flying Dutchmen took a 1-0 lead late in the first half before adding two goals in the second half to secure the victory. Carthage goalkeeper Tatiana Valdez recorded two saves in the opening half, while Vickie Engel made four saves during the final 45 minutes.

• Carthage created an early opportunity in the ninth minute when Maddie Mahon hit the woodwork.
• Marin Mooney recorded Carthage's first shot on goal in the 12th minute, but Hope goalkeeper Clara Feenstra made the save.
• Tatiana Valdez made her first save of the match in the 18th minute, stopping Rowan Klein's shot.
• Valdez added another save in the 34th minute on a shot from Halle Barnard to keep the match scoreless.
• Hope broke through in the 38th minute when Joanna Namel scored to give the Flying Dutchmen a 1-0 lead.
