Firebirds Receive Votes in AVCA-Taraflex Preseason Poll

LEXINGTON - The Carthage women's volleyball team received votes in the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Associate (AVCA)-Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll, the AVCA announced Thursday.

The Firebirds earned 20 points in the preseason poll, the second highest in the CCIW. Illinois Wesleyan led the conference with 1,215 points, placing the Titans at No. 8 in the Preseason Poll.

Other ranked teams on the Firebirds schedule include No. 1 Wis-Oshkosh, No. 7 Wis-Eau Claire, No. 16 Wis-Whitewater, No. 17 Hope, No. 24 Dubuque, (RV) Gustavus Adolphus, (RV) Lawrence, and (RV) UChicago.

The Firebirds open the 2026 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1 against Lakeland at 7 p.m. in Plymouth, Wis. For the full schedule, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
