Four Firebirds Selected for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Four members of the Carthage men's track & field team have been selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the NCAA announced Friday. Athletes that will be sporting the red and black Firebird uniforms at the national championships include Jacob Curulewski, Dylan Parker, Tyler Rose, and Jack Tilton.

Curulewski, a senior from Downers Grove, Ill., will compete in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter run races at the NCAA Championships. Curulewski ranks 13th in the 10,000m with a time of 29:43.54, which he ran at the WashU Distance Carnival on March 26. Curulewski's 5,000m time of 14:13.57, which ranks 23rd at the Division III level, came at the Wis-Platteville Invitational on April 10.

Parker, a junior from Skokie, Ill., will represent the Firebirds in the 400m. Parker enters the championships ranked 14th in the event with a time of 47.13 seconds after running the mark at the Wis-La Crosse Uncaged Eagle Open on May 8.

Rose, a senior from Naperville, Ill., will compete in both the shot put and the discus throw. Rose holds the top mark in the country in discus with a throw of 59.44m that came at the CCIW Championships on May 2. Rose also ranks 16th in shot put with a mark of 17.34, which he also set at the CCIW Championships.

Tilton, a freshman from Rochelle, Ill., will make his NCAA Championships debut in the high jump. Tilton ranks 17th in the event with a mark of 2.06m, which he used to win a CCIW Championship on May 2.

The Firebirds will compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 21-23 in La Crosse, Wis. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
