KENOSHA - The Carthage men's track & field team returned to action on day one of the 2026 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Art Keller Stadium, marking the first time since 2019 that the Firebirds have hosted the conference championship meet. The Firebirds came away with a pair of victories on the day in the 3,000m steeplechase and the 10,000m on the way to a second place positioning on the team scoreboard heading into the final day.

SPRINTS

Landon Voye placed second in the 200m prelims, qualifying for Saturday's final with a time of 22.00 seconds.

Dylan Parker advanced to the finals with a fourth place finish in the 400m prelim with a finishing time of 49.06 seconds.

DISTANCE

Harlan Matson* won the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:19.37. Luke Davey* placed third in a personal best 9:26.48, while Andrew Schaer* placed fourth with a personal best time of 9:30.40. LJ Higgs* placed eighth in a personal best time of 9:41.99. The Firebirds scored 22 points in the event.

Jacob Curulewski won the 10,000m with a time of 29:53.20 and scored 10 points for the Firebirds with his performance.

JUMPS

Hayden Rollins placed third in the pole vault after clearing 4.51m. Nick DeLuca placed eighth at 4.41m. The Firebirds scored seven points in the event.

Kedrick Johnson III* placed seventh in the long jump with a jump of 6.63m. Johnson scored two points in the event.

THROWS

Tyler Rose* placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.25m. Caleb Haas-Rock* placed sixth at 48.38m. The duo tallied nine points for Carthage in the event
