Firebirds Conclude Regular Season at Drake Relays and Wis-Whitewater Drake Alternative

DES MOINES/WHITEWATER - The Carthage men's track & field team continued their 2026 outdoor season this weekend at the Drake Relays in Iowa and the Drake Alternative at Wis-Whitewater. The weekend was highlighted by another record breaking performance for Dylan Parker, along with several strong performances in the final weekend of the regular season.



SPRINTS

Parker traveled to Drake Relays on Friday, where he improved his school record in the 400m with a time of 47.53 seconds. 

At Whitewater, Evan Krahn placed eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.64


DISTANCE

Harlan Matson placed third in the 1,500m, running a personal best time of 3:58.47. LJ Higgs placed sixth in a personal best time of 4:03.15.

Michael Herres placed seventh in the 800m with a personal best time of 1:56.09

JUMPS

Camron Foster won the high jump with a personal best mark of 2.03m. Jack Tilton placed third at a season best 1.98m, while Euphrates Willis placed fourth at 1.98m.

Kedrick Johnson III placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.44m. Jy'Lique Barnes placed eighth at 6.28m.

Quentin Arceo placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.54m. Anthony Rice placed fifth at 13.43m.

Nick DeLuca placed sixth in the pole vault after clearing a personal best mark of 4.22m. 

THROWS

Tyler Rose won discus with a personal best throw of 52.55m.

Rose also won the shot put with a season best mark of 16.35m

Rose placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.42m. 

Layne Rund placed sixth in the javelin throw with a personal best mark of 43.17m.



 
  • Rose now ranks seventh in discus at the NCAA Division III level with a mark of 52.55m. He also leads the CCIW with that mark.
  • Foster now ranks 19th in NCAA Division III in the high jump with a mark of 2.03m. Foster also leads the CCIW in the event. Tilton and Willis are tied for fourth in the CCIW at 1.98m.
  • Rose ranks 25th at the NCAA DIII level in the shot put with a throw of 16.35m. The senior also leads the conference in the event. 
  • Matson ranks third in the CCIW for the 1,500m with a time of 3:58.47. Higgs ranks seventh at 4:03.15.
  • Herres ranks fourth in the CCIW in the 800m at 1:56.09.
  • Arceo moved up to fifth place in the triple jump for the CCIW with a mark of 13.54m, Rice ranks ninth at 13.43m.
  • DeLuca ranks 10th in the CCIW in the pole vault at 4.22m.
