KENOSHA— The Carthage College men's basketball team has checked in at No. 22 in this week's D3hoops.com men's basketball Top 25 poll.
The Firebirds carry a six-game winning streak into the week, standing 17-6 overall and 11-3 in conference play.
Individually, Carthage features two nationally ranked performers. Ryan Johnson sits No. 21 in double-doubles and ranks second in the conference. He is also No. 25 nationally in defensive rebounds per game and No. 29 in rebounds per game. Within the conference, Johnson is second in rebounds, rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game, and third in free throw attempts and free throws made.
Riley Brooks is No. 33 nationally in free throw percentage and leads the conference in the category. He also ranks second in three-point attempts, fourth in three-point percentage and three-pointers per game, and third in total three-point field goals made.
AJ Johnson ranks fifth in the conference in three-point attempts, third in three-point percentage, fourth in three-pointers per game and fifth in total three-point field goals made.
Carthage opens the week Wednesday, Feb. 18, hosting Wheaton (Ill.) at 7 p.m. in Kenosha.
