NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) unveiled its annual men's basketball postseason honors ahead of the conference tournament, with four Carthage student-athletes recognized.

Riley Brooks secured All-CCIW First Team recognition after leading the Firebirds with 17.5 points per game. Brooks recorded a season-high 31 points against Olivet on Dec. 19 and pulled down a season-best 11 rebounds against Augustana (Ill.) on Feb. 14. He ranks seventh in the CCIW in scoring, second in free-throw percentage and third in three-point field goals per game. A second-team honoree last season, Brooks also produced four double-doubles this year.

Ryan Johnson earned his second consecutive All-CCIW First Team selection, averaging 14.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest. Johnson sits second in the conference in rebounding and 12th in scoring. He posted a season-high 26 points against Illinois Wesleyan on Jan. 28 and grabbed 15 rebounds against Elmhurst on Jan. 21, finishing the regular season with 12 double-doubles.

AJ Johnson garnered All-CCIW Second Team honors after averaging 13 points per game. He scored a season-high 25 points against North Park on Jan. 31, collected nine rebounds against North Central (Ill.) on Jan. 7 and dished out six assists against Olivet on Dec. 19. Johnson was a first-team selection a season ago.

Patrick Laurich represented Carthage as the program's CCIW RESPECT Award recipient. The honor is presented to one student-athlete from each varsity team who exemplifies Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust.

Carthage will be the No. 2 seed in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament. The Firebirds will play the highest remaining seed on Friday, February 27, at 5 p.m. in Bloomington, Ill.
