Dylan Parker broke a Carthage record in the 400m that had stood for 23 years. How have his efforts led to this moment in his career and where do you see his season going from here?
"Dylan has come a long way since his freshman year and we're really proud of him," said Head Coach Josh Henry. "He's really learned how to train at a high level and it's showing in his results. I attribute a lot of Dylan's progress to the mentorship and guidance of Coach Schantek who has done an incredible job leading our long sprints crew. Looking ahead, I truly think Dylan is just getting started. He has some high goals for himself as do we. I'm excited to see how he continues to develop over the course of the season."
At the Red Hawk Opener, Carthage was led by a 33-point day from the jumps group. What went right in those events and how can they continue to lead the team moving forward?
"I'm really excited about the success we're building in the jumps this year. It is a very young and talented group who has so much potential to be great. This is an area that we have been lacking in over the past few seasons so it's a super exciting development for the program that can really help this team get to the next level. I think what is most exciting about this performance at Ripon is the fact that we didn't even have the whole crew there so there is another level of success this group can achieve. This is just the beginning."
Tyler Rose ranks fourth at the NCAA DIII level in the weight throw. What do you hope to see out of Tyler as he continues to battle for the top spot in the country?
"Tyler is another person who has come a really long way since his freshman year due to the work he's put in and great leadership from Coach Raimondi. We're very excited about what Tyler can accomplish this season and have a lot of big goals for him throughout the season that culminate in Birmingham at the NCAA Championships."
