NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women's Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week. Nicole Tarpley of the Carthage Women's Track and Field team was named Field Student-Athlete of the Week for the CCIW, the conference announced Wednesday. 

This past weekend at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, Tarpley, a grad student from Bloomingdale, Ill., threw two personal record marks in the discus and hammer throw. Tarpley threw a 45.61 meters in the discus and 51.09 meters in the hammer. Currently, in the NCAA Division III, Tarpley is ranked in discus (sixth) and the hammer throw (13th). Additionally, Tarpley stays at 10th for Carthage in the discus and moves to seventh all-time in the hammer throw for Carthage College women's track and field all-time performance list. 

The Firebirds will be back in action on Saturday, April 12 for the Wheaton College Invite in Wheaton, Ill. Action is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
