DES MOINES/WHITEWATER - The Carthage men's track and field team wrapped up their regular season at the Wis.-Whitewater Drake Alternative on Thursday and the Drake Relays from Thursday through Saturday. The team delivered strong performances across multiple events, highlighted by Lucas Leal's victory in the hammer throw. 



SPRINTS

Dylan Parker placed seventh in the 200m with a time of 21.72.

Tre Mitchell III placed sixth in the 400m with a personal best time of 50.76.

DISTANCE

Chase Upmann competed at Drake Relays in the 800m, running 1:52.19.

Micah Anderson represented the Firebirds in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Drake Relays, finishing in 9:27.58.

THROWS

Lucas Leal won the hammer throw with a mark of 59.96m. Tyler Rose threw a personal best mark of 52.83m placing sixth, with Jacob Brost placing eighth with a mark of 51.64m. 

Leal returned to action on Saturday at the Drake Relays, placing fifth at 59.00m.

Brost placed third in the javelin throw with a mark of 52.80m.


 

• Anderson moved into fourth place in the CCIW rankings in the 3,000m steeplechase.
• Rose now ranks seventh in the CCIW in the hammer throw.
