Men’s Swimming and Diving Places Second at CCIW Championships

PLEASANT PRAIRIE - The Carthage men's swimming and diving team competed in the CCIW Swimming and Diving Championships held Wednesday February 19 through Saturday February 22.

Diving

In the one meter dive, Taydin Murphy and Carson Sehy took first and third place with scores of 385.65 and 254.40.*

Murphy and John Quinn placed first and third in the three meter dive with scores of 377.50 and 300.80.*

Day One

The Firebirds relay team of Ben Keller, Max Robinson, Paul Busse, and Aidan Nord clocked in a time of 6:49.24 for a second place finish and a school record in the 800 yard freestyle relay.

Day Two

The Firebirds relay team of Christian Snyder, Nord, Logan Dales, and Matija Simic took the gold in the 200 yard freestyle relay clocking in a time of 1:22.90.*

Keller took third place in the 500 yard freestyle, finishing in 4:38.41.*

In the 200 yard IM, Busse clocked in a time of 1:53.60 for a third place finish.*

In the 400 yard medley relay, the Firebirds team of Conner Hwang, Tyson Politsch, Snyder, and Dales, took second place in a time of 3:24.12.

Day Three

The Firebirds relay team of Hwang, Politsch, Snyder, and Simic took the gold in the 200 yard medley relay clocking in a time of 1:32.00.*

Busse finished in third place in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:10.24.*

In the 100 yard butterfly, Snyder clocked in a time of 49.34 for a first place finish.*

Politsch took the gold in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.68.*

Hwang placed third in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 52.71.*

Day Four

Max Robinson placed third in the 1650 yard freestyle in a time of 16:26.50.*

Keller took the crown in the 200 yard backstroke clocking in a time of 1:51.47*

Nord placed third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.68.*

In the 200 yard breaststroke, Busse placed third with a time of 2:06.53.*

In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the Firebirds relay team of Snyder, Dales, Simic, and Nord placed second with a time of 3:06.52.
