NAPERVILLE — Carthage College men's lacrosse sophomore Chad Kohlmann has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Kohlmann played a key role in the Firebirds' dominant 20-1 season-opening victory over Hendrix on Saturday, February 1. The Delafield, Wis., native was a perfect 16-for-16 on faceoffs and collected 11 ground balls, helping Carthage control possession throughout the contest. His standout performance also earned him a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week. In an 11-9 win on February 15, Kohlmann had eight ground balls and went 13-19 from the faceoff circle.
The Firebirds have their home opener on Saturday, February 22 at 1 p.m. against Dubuque.
