KENOSHA - The Carthage men's swim and dive team turned in an outstanding performance at the Carthage Classic, finishing second overall with 1,130 points and delivering several of the meet's most dominant finals swims. The Firebirds leaned on star power, A-final consistency, and clutch event wins to stay within striking distance of the top spot across the three-day competition.

The performance of the weekend came from the men's 400 medley relay, where
Trey Halas,
Tyson Politsch,
AJ Landorf, and
William Murray powered to a meet-winning performance. Their victory set the tone for the rest of the finals session and highlighted Carthage's elite balance across butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.
Individually, Politsch delivered two championship-level efforts, first taking command in the 500 freestyle, where he raced to an A-final victory with one of the most controlled and authoritative swims of the night. Politsch followed that performance with another finals championship in the 200 breaststroke, securing his place as one of the most impactful performers of the entire meet.
Carthage also saw major scoring contributions from Landorf, who raced to a second-place finish in the 200 IM, nearly capturing the event title with strong closing speed. In the sprint events, Murray and
Aidan Nord added key points with top-five placements in the 100 freestyle, boosting Carthage in one of the most competitive finals of the meet.
With multiple event champions, a dominant relay win, and reliable top-five finishes across the board, the Firebirds men capped off a highly successful weekend and reinforced their status as one of the region's top programs.
The Firebirds will go on a break and return in 2026 at Wis.-Oshkosh on Saturday, January 10. For more information, visit our
