WHEATON - The Carthage men's swimming & diving team delivered an impressive slate of performances this weekend, highlighted by event sweeps, multi-event winners, and key relay contributions as the Firebirds battled Wheaton College in a tightly contested dual meet.

Taydin Murphy set the tone with a dominant performance on the boards, sweeping both diving events. Murphy opened the meet with a win in the 1-Meter (227.10) before securing the 3-Meter title with a commanding 252.35.
In the pool, AJ Landorf took control of the 200 IM, winning in 2:01.57, followed by a strong victory in the 100 Butterfly (53.63). Landorf also delivered a runner-up finish in the 200 Butterfly (2:03.58), showcasing versatility across strokes and distances.
Tyson Politsch powered the breaststroke and mid-distance crew with a standout weekend of his own. Politsch won both the 100 Breast (1:00.68) and 200 Breast (2:16.21), while also securing a third-place finish in the 500 Freestyle (4:55.84). His contributions anchored several relays, including a strong second-place effort in the 400 Medley Relay (3:37.41) alongside
Ian Glossa, Landorf, and
Ben Przekota. Przekota fueled Carthage's front-end speed, placing fourth in the 50 Free (22.55) and third in the 100 Free (50.22) while executing crucial legs on both freestyle and medley relays.
Trey Halas and
Kalen Kramp added stability, finishing second and third, respectively, in both the 100 Back and 200 Back.
