KENOSHA - The Carthage men's swim & dive team showcased several standout individual performances at the Calvin Quad Meet, highlighted by a first-place diving finish and strong contributions in the middle-distance freestyle and IM events. The Firebirds added depth through relay scoring and positioned themselves well as competition intensifies deeper into the season.

The Carthage men tallied several notable swimming and diving finishes throughout the Calvin Quad Meet. In distance events, Tyson Politsch paced the Firebirds with a fifth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:55.95), followed by freshman Sean Noller in seventh. Politsch also contributed to relay scoring, swimming on the Carthage "A" 400 medley relay that placed fifth overall in 3:36.70, with strong legs from Trey Halas and AJ Landorf.
Landorf posted one of the team's best individual swims with a runner-up finish in the 200 IM (1:56.30), later adding a third-place finish in the 100 fly at 52.16. In sprint freestyle, Ben Przekota led the Firebirds in the 50 free with a 22.44, placing 19th overall in a tightly packed field.
On the diving side, Carthage earned a major highlight as Taydin Murphy won the 1-meter event with a meet-leading score of 410.20.
The Firebirds return to action for a conference matchup against the Wheaton Thunder. Action is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14. For more information, visit our
