ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Carthage women's track & field team competed at Augustana College on Wednesday and Thursday at the Midwest Twilight Qualifier. It was the final opportunity for the Firebirds to achieve marks that will qualify for the NCAA National Championships.



Aubrey Schoeneman won the shot put invite division with a mark of 15.11m. Alyssa Gulsvig placed eighth at 13.13m.

Mikayla Wright placed second in the shot put open division with a personal best mark of 14.16m.

Gulsvig placed fourth in the discus throw invite division with a personal best throw of 46.24m. Schoeneman placed sixth with a personal best 45.66m.

Nicole Tarpley placed sixth in the discus throw open division with a mark of 43.42m. Jackie Tuzil placed eighth at 42.76m.

Abbey Calhoun placed eighth in the triple jump invite division with a jump of 11.46m.




The Firebirds will wait to learn who has punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championships on May 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
