Firebirds Compete at Last Chance Invites

NAPERVILLE, Ill. / JOLIET, Ill. - The Carthage women's track & field team competed in a pair of meets this weekend at North Central College and the University of St. Francis (IL).

NORTH CENTRAL CARIUS-GREGORY INVITATIONAL

Alexis Mattox won the hammer throw with a mark of 53.77m. Aubrey Schoeneman took third place at 49.91m, with Nicole Tarpley placing fourth at 49.49m.

Schoeneman won discus with a mark of 43.35m. Tarpley placed second at 41.89m, with Jackie Tuzil placing third at 40.37m and Alyssa Gulsvig placing fourth at 39.68m.

Mikayla Wright placed third in shot put with a mark of 13.53m. Mattox finished in fourth at 13.38m, while Tuzil tied for fifth place at 12.38m. Madison Payne placed seventh at 11.48m, while Gulsvig placed eighth at 11.48m.

Tara Schaalma finished in fourth place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.90m.

Sarah Kerfin finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 13.04 seconds.

Jessie Pakaski placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:26.48.

Anna Kegel placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.41m.

Kerfin placed fifth in the 200m with a time of 26.05 seconds. Mandy Nelson finished in eighth place with a time of 26.78 seconds.

Teagan Johnston finished sixth in the high jump after clearing 1.51m.

Schaalma placed seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.28.
