KENOSHA, Wis. - Carthage College head football coach Matt Popino is proud to announce the appointment of four new coaches to the coaching staff. The new additions, Mike Davis, Breon Hoosier, Connor Gibson, and Rob Kruse, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Firebirds' program.
Mike Davis joined Carthage as the defensive line coach following a successful tenure at Lawrence Technological University. With a focus on enhancing team performance and player development, Davis brings a proven track record of implementing innovative strategies and fostering a culture of teamwork and communication.
Breon Hoosier steps into the role of Wide Receivers Coach, bringing with him a diverse background in coaching and player development. Hoosier, having served as an Assistant Football Coach at Trinity University, Defensive Coordinator at St. Dominic Savio High School, and Strength & Conditioning Coach at Division I training. His expertise in coaching multiple positions and managing recruiting operations will contribute significantly to Carthage Football's success.
Connor Gibson joins the coaching staff with a proven track record in strength and conditioning from his roles at the University of Kentucky and Hanover College. As a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Kentucky, Gibson played a pivotal role in designing and implementing training programs for various sports teams, showcasing his versatility and dedication to athletic development.
Rob Kruse, a former student-athlete at Wartburg College, brings a unique perspective as a student-athlete and coach. His experience as an Offensive Line Intern and JV Offensive Line Coach and his success on the field make him a valuable asset to Carthage Football's offensive strategy.
