NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Carthage women's track & field team has been ranked 21st in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Ratings Index presented by AthleticNET, the USTFCCCA announced Tuesday. The ratings are determined using a point system that values the national rankings of individual student-athletes in each program.

The Firebirds scored 79.15 points this week and are the third highest ranked team from the CCIW (#14 North Central; #17 Carroll). Carthage is the fifth highest ranked team in the north region, as the Firebirds trail Wis.-La Crosse (5), Wis.-Eau Claire(12), Wis.-Whitewater (15), and Carroll (17).

Aubrey Schoeneman leads the Firebirds on the ratings index, as she is ranked second in the nation in the shot put (15.11m), 25th in discus (42.50m), and 42nd in the hammer throw (48.47m). Alexis Mattox is currently ranked seventh in the hammer throw (54.43m) and 50th in the shot put (12.61m). Nicole Tarpley is ranked 10th in discus (44.26m) and 28th in the hammer throw (50.02m). Abbey Calhoun ranks 15th in triple jump (11.92m). Alyssa Gulsvig is ranked 20th in the shot put (13.24m) and 23rd in discus (42.75m). Jackie Tuzil is ranked 47th in discus (41.17m).
